Personal Choice Issues to Ponder

Personal Choice Issues to Ponder

  • How do you decide between “letting something go” and seeking justice or revenge when you believe that you have been wronged? Do you overlook everything? just little things? What determines the action that you might pursue?
  • Have you ever separated from a loved one or a dear friend because of something you interpreted as an unforgiving action that should outweigh many years of a marvelous and valuable relationship? Were you correct as you reflect upon that relationship? If not, is it too late to change the situation?
  • Have you ever been so oblivious (a kind word instead of others which could be used) that you overlooked or delayed telling something to, doing something with or for, and/or giving something to a special person in your life until it was too late and then you have had to live with terrible soulful unrest for the remainder of your days? Could there be any greater regret than this?
  • Do you idolize the world’s greatest athlete or entertainer more than you idolize Mother Theresa?

  • What would you say and/or do if your parents and/or children wanted to get numerous tattoos, body piercings, or whatever you considered “far out?”
  • Is there ever a time when a proper spanking (not a beating) is better than a time-out or grounding?
  • Are you someone who has all information, instructions, and legal documents (will, health care proxy, power of attorney, Homestead Act, guardianship of your children, etc.) ready in case of death or any serious illness you might incur, OR are you relying on “potluck” for your wishes to be implemented from and for loved ones?
  • What is your main goal in life, and will you achieve it through work or only by wishful thinking?
  • Do you think of your departed loved ones often throughout the day?
  • Do you possess the important ability to disagree agreeably?
  • When you are having a problem, do you believe in the saying, “Blame others only after you break the world record for attempting to help yourself?”
  • For habits, preferences, or organizational schemes, do you arrange the paper currency in your wallet systematically or do you put this money there randomly? Do you squeeze the toothpaste tube from the top or the bottom? Does your toilet paper fall against the wall or over the top of the roll? Do you always put on articles of clothing in the same order? How often do you get gas for your vehicle – every twenty miles or less, when your tank is half full, when it is near empty, etc.?
  • Do you practice any superstitions or possess any peculiar habits?
  • Do you enjoy the Turner Movie Classics station that shows a plethora of films with old-time stars?

  • Can you truthfully rate yourself in the following categories on a scale of 1-10, with the highest number being the best: empathy, patience, objectivity, honesty, charity, tolerance, perseverance, emotional stability, physical and moral courage, (you may add others). Of course, what is the proper definition of these terms?
  • If you were totally alone in the wilderness and needed to amputate your own leg in order to survive, do you think you could do it?

  • Should a man/lady color his/her hair or keep it long only until a certain point in life?

  • Can you believe how much money celebrities are paid to advertise a product because the manufacturers know that many people are so “star-struck” that they will purchase what is shown? Isn’t it better to secure something because it is proven to be valuable and not just because a fantasy image says so?
  • Why do many people buy any recognizable brand product at an “established” place instead of purchasing the exact same thing (check the ingredients) of a lesser known brand for half the price at a less “established” place?
  • How many bids would you seek if you needed major repairs or to make a large purchase?
