H.E.R.O. Program 2

(This letter is directed especially to larger established organizations which seek significant and leading involvement - as their record might show or begin to reveal - in community service endeavors.)

Letter to Publicity Sponsor

To Whom It May Concern,

Should the status quo be ignored and accepted as inevitable or should this attempt be made to overcome it and demonstrate that citizens working together and focusing on goals can breach high and, heretofore, impenetrable walls in order to improve numerous deserving lives to a valuable extent? Do you view this idea as worthy of fulfilling a meaningful place in your company’s community service record and within the personal legacy of those involved?

Organizations which need money or quality manpower for their worthy purpose of serving individuals or causes are far more likely to receive donations if there is a central means of coordination, and specific requests for assistance with which the community can identify are publicized. The H.E.R.O. Program is unique because there would be a menu of easily accessible legitimate choices to which citizens could relate through their own experiences and/or those of a loved one whose presence they would feel and whose life they would honor by contributing. Commonly, little work and effort would need to be undertaken and expended by the public in order to provide a significant positive result.

All necessary components are available, but not yet utilized, for this program to be successful. Many medicines can provide great benefits because various ingredients are mixed and assembled within them. Would it not be shameful if a life could be saved, yet was not because no one combined the necessary existing elements and delivered them to the needy person? The H.E.R.O. Program has unlimited potential and would not be nearly as difficult to establish as was the launching of the Make A Wish Foundation, which has a similar concept in that it promotes a truly worthy result for an unfortunate individual. The H.E.R.O. Program can produce as much gratification, albeit in a different way, for the recipient as it can for the awaiting large pool of donors who can act effortlessly upon learning how their simple actions will favorably alter someone’s life. I can cite the Toy for Joy campaign as a successful example (there are certainly others) that follows what I have stated.

I am confident that any obstacles or difficulties which you might foresee can be overcome, especially when applying the statement that “no problem can withstand the assault of sustained thinking” (plus determination). Can you and your organization provide help and include the concept of the H.E.R.O. Program within which I understand are the practical and realistic considerations of your existence?

Sincerely,

Tony Odierna, Jr.
